Traveling Softly and Quietly A booktalk with Nithin Coca

When Nithin Coca was 23, a recent College graduate with big dreams, he embarked on a 13-month unplanned journey around the world in a bid to find himself and his life’s desires. Traveling Softly and Quietly is his memoir from the journey. How does travel at the edges of one’s limits help us learn about who we are? Join Nithin for a casual book chat as he reads from his memoir and shares photos and anecdotes.

Traveling Softly and Quietly is more than a mere travelogue, it’s a book about what is important in one’s life. Through adventures at parties in Europe, backpacking in Turkey, volunteering in Nepal and Thailand, the author explores universal themes such as independence, modernity, growth, and friendship.

Nithin has already visited 44 countries and lived in Spain, France, Nepal, and Indonesia. His writing has been featured in Indonesia Expat, Al Jazeera English, 8Asians, Quartz, and Bootsnall.

Having just finished Traveling Softly and Quietly, he is currently working on his second book on the History and Culture of Chili Peppers.
